To Pull or Not to Pull?

Having never been witness to a challenge myself, I always find it fascinating to read about banned/challenged books.  Seems like a far-off distant land from the desk I usually inhabit.  If anything, patrons where I work will get worked up if the collection seems too conservative.

Let Them Eat Cake!

Mega bestseller and president of the Authors Guild Scott Turow likens library cutbacks to "let them eat cake" in this article:

"I count myself as one of millions of Americans whose life simply would not be the same without the libraries that supported my learning. We cannot take that opportunity away from so many Americans who need that help urgently now."
